Dividend Update: September 2017

It’s time for my favorite type of post: a tally of the dividends I received in the prior month. Given my strategy of DGI, it is really the dividend payouts that I care about. For each of the companies I invest in, I like to see a steady and growing stream of dividend payouts.

So how did I do in September?

Last month 25 companies sent me a dividend payout, adding up to a total of $379.

Last September was the first month I received more than $300 a month in dividends. In fact, $379 is  already getting pretty close to $400!.

It’s pretty amazing how fast my dividends have grown. After all, I am only in my third year of investing and we are already talking over $3,000 per year in received dividends.

The following table shows the tickers of the companies that made a September 2017 dividend payout to my portfolio. It features the dividend amount I received and any change in payout as compared to the last payout moment.

Nice dividend increases across the board here. Out of the five increases Delta Airlines (DAL) stands out with an increase of over 50% (!).

That’s not a typo, but is part of a great and hopefully continuing dividend growth streak of this airline.

Comparing the dividend payout of September 2016 to September 2017 (below) shows an increase from $168 to $379- YoY growth of 126%.

  1. Very nice month! Impressive to see how fast that snowball can start rolling in just a few years time. Can’t wait to see if I can get equally great number a year from now (I’m investing now for about 1.5 years)

    1. M&M, being 6,6 (~2 meter) makes it hard to fly sometimes, but the dividend growth of DAL makes up for that (almost!). Let’s see if they can keep up their streak! Low P/E, high dividend growth rate, happy shareholder!
