September is behind us, time to check in on my portfolio.
This month I added to three existing positions:
On September 25th I bought 25 extra shares of Intel Corporation (INTC), 20 more shares of the Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS) and finally 10 more shares of Abbvie (ABBV).
Given these new buys, this month’s received dividends and stock price changes - how did my portfolio progress in September?
For reasons of comparison: a year ago, at the end of September 2017, my portfolio consisted of 47 positions with a total value of $103,984.
At the end of September 2018 my portfolio consisted of 56 positions with a total market value of $152,956, a Year-on-Year (YoY) increase of 47%.
This YoY increase is featured in the graph below.

Hi TI,
Nice additions to your portfolio. I hear ABBV quite often these days in blogs of DGIs. I don’t own shares of any of the three companies.
The increase of your portfolio compared to last year is also astonishing!
P.S. I guess you meant “September 30 2017” (not August) on your graph 🙂

Hi BrokeInvestor,
Thanks! All three are great DGI stocks in my opinion, with ABBV delivering a recent 50% div raise.
Also appreciate you flagging that mistake on the chart, fixed it.
Thanks for stopping by!
I think you added some very solid names to your portfolio. ABBV and BNS have both been with me for long time with no plans to shuttle them any time soon. Keep diversifying your portfolio with quality payers.
DivHut - same here, long time holder of both ABBV and BNS. Very pleased to see their recent drops so I had an opportunity to add more.
Diversification & quality is what it’s all about for me 🙂

Great buys, and very impressive growth on a YoY basis. You’re doing fantastic and love seeing that portfolio grow!
DivyDad, really appreciate that! Tomorrow my Dividend Report for September will be up… Looks pretty good from my perspective!
