It’s time for my favorite type of post: a tally of the dividends I received in the prior month.
Given my strategy of DGI, it is really the dividend payouts that I care about. For each of the companies I invest in, I like to see a steady and growing stream of dividend payouts.
So how did I do in January?
Last month 16 companies sent me a dividend payout, adding up to a total of $494.
The following table shows the tickers of the companies that made a January 2019 dividend payout to my portfolio.
The table features the dividend amount I received and any change in payout as compared to the last pay-out moment.
Ticker | Dividends Received | Dividend per Share Change |
---|---|---|
HBAN | $21.00 | |
KMB | $50.00 | |
PEP | $37.10 | |
HASI | $16.50 | |
DIS | $35.20 | 4.76% |
EQR | $10.80 | |
VTR | $12.68 | 0.32% |
WPC | $72.10 | 0.49% |
STAG | $5.92 | |
CAH | $38.10 | |
PEB | $8.46 | |
CSCO | $33.00 | |
CLDT | $11.00 | |
BNS | $38.44 | -0.99% |
BBL | $91.80 | Special Dividend |
JPM | $12.00 | |
TOTAL | 494.10 |
The fact that 16 companies sent me dividend checks is great in and of itself, but four of them decided to raise their pay-out this month.
The ‘House of the Mouse’ - Disney - provided the biggest regular dividend raise for me this month, albeit just 4.76%.
BHP Billiton on the other hand, dug up a massive special dividend this January.
Comparing the dividend payout of January 2018 to January 2019 shows an increase of $266 to $494- a Year-on-Year (YoY) growth of 86%.
This YoY growth is featured in the table below.

Holding some great companies if you were able to put up such a strong year over year gain. Congrats on moving that snowball.
Thanks DivHut - the snowball is gaining pace 🙂
